Celebrate Voice is honoured to present this collaboration which began nearly twenty years ago and has been taken across the UK, Europe and China. This programme is by way of homage to the Hollywood Quartet who championed all the greats of the quartet repertoire whilst premiering works by Korngold and other film composers of the Golden Age of Hollywood, as well as recording with Frank Sinatra. Having recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, the Brodsky Quartet continue their prominent presence on the international chamber music scene, attracting numerous awards and accolades worldwide. One of the best-loved and most versatile opera stars of the last 40 years, Sir Willard White's illustrious career has taken him to the most prestigious opera houses and concert halls throughout the world. This transatlantic programme is a voyage from 19th century Lieder to classical takes on folk songs, 20th century milestones to the Great American Songbook. The Brodsky Quartet are delighted to embark on this musical journey together with their dear friend and luminary of the operatic stage whose ability to traverse boundaries is legendary. |
