Write it, Sing it, Play it!
If you or a loved one are living with Dementia or Parkinson's, join our uplifting, sociable therapeutic music workshop with Liv McLennan. Come on a journey through the power of music designed to embrace its healing power and ignite creativity and connection.
This year we have a special task - to create a cracking Christmas carol alongside the Downton Downtime dementia club! During this dementia-inclusive session, we will begin writing our very own winter-themed song to perform at the St Thomas’s Christmas Tree festival in December. We’ll also sing familiar songs, introduce movement activities and play simple instruments together, to promote memory, creativity and fun.
The aim for the session is to create a follow on activity at St. Thomas's and help foster social connection and community building to support our participants. The session connects with others through understanding, mutual support, sharing stories, laughter and the joy of creating music. No music experience is necessary.
In Partnership with Sounds Better CIC and the Downton Downtime Dementia Group
