Courtyard Carollers!
Live Music for Care & Residential Homes in Salisbury

In December, Courtyard Carollers brought the joy of live music to isolated people in the city in collaboration with Celebrating Age Wiltshire.

Celebrate Voice took professional singers to 14 care and residential homes and almshouses in and around Salisbury, bringing beautiful a cappella singing to people who are isolated over the Christmas period and contributing to the well-being of our city’s residents.

The Lockdown Shows

From Sunday 8 November, we were delighted to launch Season 2 of The Lockdown Shows, creating a shared live music-making experience at homes, until Christmas!
​
We are committed to your well-being, and supporting the community, bringing Salisbury together with people from all over the UK and abroad. Hosted by Lynsey Docherty and Philip Smith, together with international artists, our shows brought live music and great company into your living room!

Celebrate Voice presented two 75-minute highlight performances of Handel's masterpiece, bringing stunning live classical music to one of Salisbury's iconic city centre venues, St, Thomas's Church.

Performed by an ensemble of 8 professional singers, string quartet and organ, and conducted by David Gostick, this performance of The Messiah was one of the few live performances in the South West during the 2020 Christmas season.

Rob Gildon and Lynsey Docherty presented a 5-week online course exploring a wide variety of song repertoire, learning with 2 coaches, working on technique and having great fun choreographing with a community of singers online. 
 
In their inimitable style, the duo channelled their tried and tested light-hearted but focussed approach to getting the best out of your vocal performance skills whilst in lockdown.

Gingerbread: An operatic adventure!

Iford Arts in collaboration with Celebrate Voice, offer a free three-part online series introducing families to the magical world of fairy tale operas. This film-based, activity filled project is full of storytelling, singing, music and creative tasks. 

This is a production created, written and performed by artists in their homes during lockdown, recreating the opera in a completely new interactive way, integrating technology we have all become accustomed to in recent times!

Celebrate Voice & South Wilts Mencap

From April to September 2020, Celebrate Voice & South Wilts Mencap ran a weekly singing Zoom sessions for its members and their parents and carers. With fun themes each week, the participants sang songs, participated and interacted with our leaders and each other, in a lively community experience created to nurture our participants well-being. 

The sessions continue at special times during holidays, with a Halloween extravaganza in October and a festive Christmas celebration, providing continuity, maintaining special relationships and joyful music making.
